From GottaPlay's website, gamers create an account. Once the account is created, the new member is given a description of the various membership levels available. Membership levels vary by price and the status of each membership is based on the number of games a gamer would like to rent at a time. If a member is likely to focus on just one game until it is mastered, then a one game at a time plan would probably be ideal. However, if a gamer prefers to switch every few days between games, that person might consider one of the plans that offers more than one game at a time.

Once a membership level has been selected, the gamer is prompted to create a GameBox. This is a queue of video game titles ranked by order of preference. As games are returned, the next available game on the queue is automatically shipped.

The best component of this company is that there are no due dates. The video games can be kept for as long as the player desires, regardless how long that may be. At some point, when the gamer has either conquered the video game or given up hope, he will return the game to Gotta Play and the next video game in the GameBox will be shipped. GottaPlay customers will not be responsible for shipping charges in either direction.

For those who are already members, the homepage has features that enable the gamer to locate games. Gotta Play also provides tracking information so that gamers can check the status of their shipments. Per the US Post Office's recommendations, GottaPlay asks that 2-7 days are allowed for shipping.

GottaPlay Plans

GottaPlay offers two choices of rental plans. Users can choose to receive one game at a time or two games at a time. 

The basic plan allows the user to rent one game at a time for $11.95 per month. Users receive a 30% discount off the first month's plan. 

For gamers who would prefer to receive two games at a time, there area couple of options available. The new member can choose to pay monthly. This rate is $19.95 with 30% off the first month's plan. The rate is discounted for gamers who choose to pay for more than one month at a time. A pre-paid three month plan is available at a rate of $16.95 per month. Six months, when paid in full, is available at a price point of $15.95 per month. The six month prepaid plan also rewards members with $5 in GottaPlay Dollars for use toward the purchase of games in the GottaPlay store. A full year can be pre-paid in full at a rate that is equivalent to just $15 per month and comes with $10 in GottaPlay Dollars.

GottaPlay Free Trial

GottaPlay free trial membership are not currently offerd, but members may participate in the low priced month-to-month plans which may be cancelled at any time. As a way to compensate for the elimination of the GottaPlay free trial, GottaPlay now offers 30% off the first month's mebership fees.

GottaPlay has an awesome review system in place. Video game users are asked to complete a survey on the video games they rent. The survey also has an open ended response section. Users are asked to be very specific. The answers to the surveys are compiled and gamers are matched to other gamers who have similar opinions.
